SUMMARY:BCFC Candidate Roundtable - Carl DeMaio
DESCRIPTION:In the mid-to-late 1990s\, the Business Coalition for Fair Competition (BCFC) took part in getting the Federal Activities Inventory Reform (FAIR) Act enacted into law via Congressional efforts. One of the leaders in that effort\, Carl DeMaio\, has gone on to bigger and better things. Carl moved back to San Diego and in 2008 he was elected to the City Council.  He helped save the city from bankruptcy\, reformed a bloated and wasteful city employee pension system\, and instituted “competitive sourcing” and the Yellow Pages Test in San Diego.  Carl narrowly lost an election for mayor last year. Recently\, Carl announced his candidacy for Congress in a district he carried in the mayoral race. Mr. DeMaio is a candidate for the House seat held formerly by Brian Bilbray (R) and now held by Rep. Scott Peters (D). \n
